The Trafford Centre is committed to promoting the highest possible levels of fair trading and customer service delivery. Trafford Trading Standards has recognised that the best way to achieve this is through monitored self- regulation.

The businesses within The Trafford Centre are committed to comply with a Code of Practice covering areas such as consumer rights, consumer legislation and dealing with complaints. This has enabled the Trading Standards Service to declare that The Trafford Centre is a 'Fair Trading Zone'.

Visitors to The Trafford Centre can shop with confidence knowing that all businesses displaying the 'Fair Trading Zone' logo are dedicated to providing quality goods, quality services and unrivalled customer care.

Trafford Centre's Commitments

• To ensure all Trafford Centre staff attend consumer issues courses
• To hold monthly meetings with the Customer Services Manager and the FAIR TRADING ZONE Secretary to discuss ongoing issues

• To trade fairly and within the letter and spirit of the law
• Be courteous and friendly to customers at all times
• Not seek to mislead and be honest and open at all times
• Not to engage in high pressure selling

Trafford Trading Standards' Commitments

• Appoint an officer as Secretary to the FAIR TRADING ZONE
• Provide a dedicated hotline for members and consumers to call for assistance with enquiries
• Provide free legal advice to consumers and retailers
• Provide free training for Trafford Centre and retail staff
